Arrived in South Africa on the 15th and the following week bought a Toyota Landcruiser Prado (10 years old). We've had the following modifications made to the vehicle:
- Old Man Emu suspension (for going over all that rough ground).
- Bullbars (in case we meet up unexpectedly with any anmals).
- A safari snorkel ( to help keep the engine cool and free fom sand).
- A leisure battery (so that we can run a fridge, light etc) .
- A long range fuel tank (don't want to get stuck in the middle of nowhere with no fuel).
- A winch (for getting us or other vehicles out of trouble).
We've aleady tried out the winch (pulling out an old tree in the back field at Pat and Colin's and have had a go on a 4x4 trail where we tried some of the easier obstacles.
